How to Reset the Xfinity Router

Your Comcast Xfinity router is subject to occasional resets. When this happens, your Internet and home network are unavailable until you reconfigure the device. Resetting the Xfinity router is a quick process that only takes a few minutes. In most cases, resetting the router will restore all of your settings to their defaults. If your problems persist after resetting the router, call Comcast for support.

Unplug the Power Cord From the Back of Your Gateway

The reset button for your Xfinity router is actually located on the back of the device, near the power cord. To reset your router, simply unplug the power cord from the back of the gateway and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in. Once your router has restarted, you should see a reset message appear on your screen. At this point, you can release the reset button, and your router will continue to reset itself.
